OCIMF-SIRE Category 1 Vetting Inspections

The Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) introduced the SIRE tank ship inspection program in 1993 to create a uniform operational standard for oil tankers and address safety concerns. Since its inception the SIRE inspections program has become the way Oil Companies measure Tanker Quality. The SIRE system is operated to the ISO 9001 (2000) Standards and cooperates closely with the International Maritime Organization, the Paris Memorandum of Understanding (Paris MOU), the UK Marine and Coastguard Agency (UKMSA), the Australian Maritime Safety Agency (AMSA),other port state control administrations, and recognized in the United States by the US Coast Guard.
